Features & Usage
Core concepts and daily feature explanations.
What is Smart Planner for?
Smart Planner is built for study, exam preparation, routines, repeated work, and calm reminders.
What is a Loop?
A Loop is a repeatable study, routine, or review item. In Smart Planner, a loop can come back as one or more reminder steps over time.
What is a generated occurrence?
A generated occurrence is one actual reminder step that currently exists in the app. Smart Planner does not count every possible future step in a pattern before it is created.
How do step-based spaced loops work?
Some spaced loops work like a chain. For example, a loop may start now, then create a 10-minute reminder after you complete the current step, then create a 1-hour reminder after that step is completed, and then create a bedtime or next-morning reminder.
The next step appears after you finish the current one.
What is Focus Timer?
Focus Timer is a focus and break timer that can be used with your loops.
Notifications & Android
Smart Planner does not need to stay open, but Android permissions and device policies can affect reminder delivery.
Can reminders work when Smart Planner is not open?
Normally, yes. Smart Planner schedules reminders with Android, so the app does not need to remain on screen or continuously run in the background.
Delivery can still be affected by notification permission, exact alarm access where Android requires it, battery restrictions, device reboot, and manufacturer-specific power management.
What happens if I force stop Smart Planner?
If you select Force stop in Android Settings, Android may cancel or block scheduled alarms and prevent Smart Planner from running until you open it again. Reminders may not fire while the app remains force-stopped.
Open Smart Planner after a force stop so it can check and restore future reminders. Do not use Force stop as a normal way to close the app.
Swiping Smart Planner away from the recent-apps screen is different from using Force stop in Android Settings.
What should I check if a reminder did not appear?
- Smart Planner notification permission is allowed.
- Alarms & reminders or exact alarm access is allowed if Android shows that setting.
- Battery use is not set to Restricted.
- The app was not left in the Android Force stop state.
- Open Smart Planner once after a device reboot, app update, or force stop.
If the reminder is still missing, submit a notification support request with the scheduled time, device model, Android version, and whether the app was backgrounded, rebooted, or force-stopped.
Can I use Smart Planner for medical, safety, or emergency alarms?
No. Smart Planner is a planner and study reminder tool. Android or device settings can delay or block notifications. Use a dedicated alarm, medical reminder, or emergency system for safety-critical events.
Home & Statistics
How the main screen groups items and how daily statistics work.
What do NOW, TODAY, LATER, and WAITING mean?
- NOW: generated reminders that are due now or overdue.
- TODAY: generated reminders scheduled later within the current operational day.
- LATER: generated reminders scheduled after today.
- WAITING: active loops that do not currently have an unfinished generated reminder.
What does Done 2/3 mean?
It means 2 of the 3 generated reminder occurrences inside today's operational day have been completed. WAITING loops are not included in this count.
Why did a reminder move from TODAY to NOW?
When the scheduled time passes, a reminder should move from TODAY to NOW. The label and section are both based on the current time.
Why can Today increase after I complete something?
Because the next step may be generated after completion. If the new step is still inside today's operational day, Today can increase. This is expected for step-based loops.
Why do the Home screen and statistics reset at 4 AM?
Smart Planner uses an operational day instead of a strict midnight-to-midnight calendar day. By default, the operational day resets at 4:00 AM.
This helps late-night study or work after midnight stay grouped with the previous day instead of being split into a new day too early.
For example, if you complete a loop at 1:00 AM, Smart Planner may still count it as part of the previous operational day. After 4:00 AM, the Home screen sections and daily statistics are recalculated for the new operational day.
This affects labels and counts such as NOW, TODAY, Done, remaining items, and daily completion statistics.
Data & Sync
Where your data is stored and what sync support exists in v1.
Where is my data stored?
In v1, Smart Planner stores your loop data locally on your device. Export your data before changing devices, clearing app data, or uninstalling.
Does it support cloud sync?
Not in v1. Cloud sync and backup may be added later, and server-based features may require a separate fee.
Should I attach my backup file to a support request?
Not unless Feathly support specifically asks for it. Backups can contain private loop titles, notes, and history. Start with screenshots and a description of the problem.
PRO Billing & Refunds
Google Play purchases, restoration, and refund support.
What is Smart Planner PRO Lifetime?
Smart Planner PRO Lifetime is the current one-time Google Play product for local premium features. It is not a monthly or yearly subscription, so it does not renew automatically.
How do I cancel PRO?
The current PRO Lifetime product is a one-time purchase, not a recurring subscription, so there is no future renewal to cancel. For a refund, use the Google Play refund process or the Feathly refund support form.
What should I do if PRO does not appear after purchase?
Make sure Google Play is using the same account that made the purchase, then use Restore Purchase in Smart Planner. If PRO still does not appear, submit a billing support request with the purchase email, approximate date, and Google Play order ID if available.
Can I move my PRO purchase to another Google Account?
PRO access is linked to the Google Play account that completed the purchase. Smart Planner can restore a purchase owned by the current Google Play account, but it cannot transfer a Google Play purchase from one Google Account to another.
Smart Planner will never ask for your Google password.
What happens to PRO after a refund?
A completed full refund normally ends the related PRO entitlement. Restart the app while online and check or restore the purchase status. If Google Play shows the refund as complete but PRO remains active, use the refund status form.
What information helps with a billing request?
- Your reply email
- The Google Play purchase email
- The order ID beginning with GPA.
- Approximate purchase date and country
- App version and a screenshot of the PRO screen
Do not send passwords or full payment card information.
Support & Community
Choose the right channel for private support and public discussion.
How do I contact Feathly support?
Use the private support form. It sends a categorized request to support@feathly.com with a structured subject and ticket reference.
What can I attach?
You can attach up to three PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF, or TXT files. Each file must be 5 MB or smaller and the total must be 10 MB or smaller. Avoid attaching backups or database files unless requested.
What is Discord for?
Discord is the public Feathly community for announcements, general questions, feedback, and product discussion. Do not post purchase emails, order IDs, receipts, private screenshots, or security details there.
How are support emails categorized?
The support form creates a structured subject containing a category, issue code, priority, and ticket reference. Missed or unrecovered alarms are routed as high-priority support cases. This helps Feathly filter messages and add support automation later.
